What To Expect?

Once you contact HPT and provide some basic information, we will set up a free consultation It is a simple session so we can meet in person, and for you, as a prospective client, to get a feel for what it would be like to work with me.

We will discuss your fitness objectives, and go through a health history form, and a lifestyle and activity analysis. I will gather some basic information and do a body fat analysis using electrical impedance. Then we will do some basic assessments:

  • Cardiovascular condition-resting heart rate and blood pressure
  • Muscular strength and endurance
  • Body composition and flexibility
  • Training heart rate zones

I will then lay out an individualized training program including Aerobic Exercise, Strength Training, and Flexibility. We will set short and long term goals to get you where you want to go.

During your personal training sessions we will work to correct muscular imbalances, and postural-distortion patterns you may be experiencing. We will discover how to recognize and understand the messages your body is sending you, and how to respond and move in ways that keep your body healthy, and fit. I will show you how to use the equipment and make your workouts fun and effective assuring maximum efficiency. Based upon your physical structure and goals, we will work on Stabilization, Strength, and Power.

For Pre-Natal and postpartum women, fitness, proper nutrition, and clean living (no alcohol, smoking, drugs, etc.) are essential for a healthy pregnancy and hardy baby. Unless instructed otherwise by your physician, a woman can exercise up to the eighth month. After the birth of the baby, an exercise program can commence almost immediately.

I strongly believe in “functional training” exercising in a manner that reflects real life movements to recruit stabilizing muscles and activate your “core.” I train my clients the way the body is designed to move. Going to a gym is not enough, just doing one form of exercise cannot keep one flexible, strong, agile, and balanced. This is why I have sought out different types of exercise such as PT (physical training), Core, Balance, Stability, resistance and, Cardio Vascular. By drawing upon different exercise forms we will have a well rounded work out that does not neglect one area. Which will help you increase energy levels, and improve physical appearances. All leading to long-term, healthy changes, increased self-confidence, which will affect every aspect of your life in a positive way.

My resistance training uses minimal equipment: stability balls, elastic tubing, dumbbells, and medicine balls. All the exercises can be easily performed at home without going to the gym or buying expensive machines.

Training will be matched for your schedule and location, and can be done anytime and anywhere: day or night; inside or outside; home, office or designated gym. I have all of the tools necessary to help you realize your greatest potential.

Now that you have had a chance to read about my training approach at HPT, and a bit about myself, it is time for the most important part of the fitness equation – YOU. Contact me today. Together we will determine what you really want, and need from personal training – and reach your goals that much faster. You may email me at: nathan@thehpt.com or call me directly at 301-789-289
